about me

Michelle, full-time medical student, part-time photographer.

If I could describe myself in three words, they would be:

newly converted optimist. :)

I like to think that I know my way around the camera slightly better than a demented monkey.

I am also unfortunately still at the phase where I go places with taking pretty pictures as my main goal - hopefully I won't hang around there too long. However, I am fortunately learning how to appreciate the perfection in imperfect pictures and believe that most of the time pieces tell stories better than the whole. :)

Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, Key (black) is a colour profile used in printing. Contrary to popular belief, the K does not stand for the last letter in 'Black'. Wikipedia (link to relevant page) does a better job at explaining this than me.

18% grey refers to the "shade" of grey on grey cards which are traditionally used to correct the white balance of cameras. Again, you should probably refer to Wikipedia.

These two things are of course instrumental to the process of photography.

I don't know why I'm sounding so formal/pretentious. HAHA.

Anyway. The silhouettes in the coloured boxes are some of my favourite things: (left to right) the blue man group, a (pink/ magenta if you're picky like that) awareness ribbon symbolising (breast) cancer and medicine in general, and a rubber duckie.

(the key was just a lame literal reference.... lol.)

PS. the background colours of the boxes are 100% cyan, magenta and yellow respectively. I didn't bother with the "real" hexcodes because they are fugly.
